- Edna May ALLMOND, a daughter of Nannie Lou Durden and James Oscar Allmond, was born on 15 January 1910 in Candler County (then Bulloch County), Georgia. She was named as a daughter, age 5 months, in her parents? household in the 1910 Bulloch County census, and as age 10 in the 1920 Tattnall County, Georgia census.She also was named as a surviving daughter in her father?s 1969 obituary and in her mother?s 1970 obituary.
When the 1930 census was recorded, she was living with her aunt, Ada Durden Mercer, in Pulaski, Candler County, Georgia. The census provided the following information: Edna Allmond, niece, age 18, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.
She married Jack Braswell. He was born in Bulloch County on 30 June 1912.
They were residents of Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia.
They had one adopted son, Jerry Jack.
Edna died 9 August on 1971 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, and was buried in East Side Cemetery, Statesboro, Bulloch County.
Jack died 6 January on 2005 in Hawkinsville, Pulaski County, Georgia, and also was buried in East Side Cemetery.

Statesboro ? Mrs. Edna Allmond Braswell, 59, of Statesboro, died Sunday at the Memorial Medical Center in Savannah after a long illness.
The native of Candler County had lived in Statesboro for the past 25 years.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Braswell of Statesboro; a son, Jerry Braswell of Statesboro; five sisters, Miss Maxie Allmond of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Leo Mixon and Mrs. Pauline Hadden, both of Metter, Mrs. Zeb Deese of Lancaster, N.C. and Mrs. Jack Lynch of San Jose, Calif.
Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.
Smith-Tillman Mortuary of Statesboro is in charge.

Hawkinsville, Ga. ? Mr. Jack Braswell, age 92, died Thursday at Pinewood Manor Nursing Home in Hawkinsville following a long illness. He was a native of Bulloch County and resided near Statesboro for over 65 years until his retirement in 1977. He lived in Panama City, Fla., for 15 years before moving to Hawkinsville in 1992. He was a member of the Hawkinsville First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Braswell owned and operated Jack Braswell Construction Company of Statesboro, a commercial and residential building firm, for nearly 40 years. The company was the initial builder and developer of Woodlawn Estates and built a number of the homes located there, as well as in Grove Lakes and other developments. The company?s early work included several projects at (the then) Georgia Teachers College in Statesboro, highlighted by the construction of the President?s Home (now the GSU Alumni House) in 1954. He always considered his work on the construction of the C. J. Mathews home on Country Club Road, to be that which he was most proud of.
Mr. Braswell is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Mary Braswell of Hawkinsville, a stepdaughter, Maureen Stickler of Southport, Fla.; four step-grandchildren, Kim Sweat of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Carl Beasley of Panama City, Fla., Brian Beasley of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Karen Johnson of Whiting, N.J. Several step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. A widower, Mr. Braswell was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Braswell in 1971; and by his second wife, Eunice Braswell in 1988.
The funeral service for Mr. Braswell will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro with the Rev. Larry Bird and the Rev. Rick Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro.
Active pallbearers will be William Powell, Craig Winkler, Bernard Mixon, Ron Shuler, Frankie Faircloth and Jack Eckles.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Home Builders Association of Statesboro.
The family will receive friends in Statesboro on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
