- Madison McDonald BOATRIGHT, the second child of Julia Ann Sconyers and Reubin Boatright Jr., was born 8 June 1855 in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was included in his parents? household in the 1860 Emanuel County census at age 6 years, in the 1870 census at age 17 years2 and he was named as a surviving son in his father?s 1911 obituary.
He married about 1875 Mary Elizabeth Coleman, who was born about January 1856 in Georgia. The family was enumerated in the 1880 Emanuel County census as follows: Madison Boatright, age 25; Lizzie, age 25, wife; James, age 2, son; all born in Georgia.
By 1900, the family had moved to the 1340th GMD in Bulloch County, Georgia where they were recorded in the census as follows: Madison Boatwright, born June 1855, age 44, married 25 years, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, farmer, could read and write, owns farm, mortgage free; Mary E., wife, born January 1856, age 44, mother of 12 children, 3 children living, born in Georgia, could read and write; James D., son, born February 1878, age 22, single, born in Georgia, teamster, could read and write; Maud, daughter, born September 1888, age 11, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia; Fred, son, born August 1893, age 6, born in Georgia, attended school, could read and write.
The Atlanta Constitution recorded in 1906 that; ?Mr. and Mrs. Mack M. Boatright and children of Bulloch county, have this week been the guests of Mr. Boatright?s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Boatright, at Longview.?
The family apparently moved to Lyons, Toombs County prior to 1910. They were recorded there in the 1910 census as follows: Max M. Boatwright, head, age 54, married once, married first at age 34 years, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, proprietor, livery stable, employer, could read and write, rented, house; Mary B., wife, age 54, married once, married first at age 34 years, mother of 12 children of whom 3 are living, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, could read and write; James D., son, age 32, single, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, woodsman, naval store, wage earner, not out of work, could read and write; Maud, daughter, age 21, single, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, could read and write; Fredrick, son, age 16, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, driver, livery, wage earner, not out of work, could read and write; Annie Mixon, boarder, age 25, widow, mother of 1 child, no children living, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, could read and write.
They had the following children:

Madison died 5 February 1915 in Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia.
Lizzie and sons were recorded in the 1920 Toombs County census as follows: Lizzie Boatright, head, rented house, age 65, widow, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, no occupation; Dennis, son, age 41, single, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, no occupation; Fred Boatright, head, age 26, married, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, carpenter, self-employed; and Ella, wife, age 26, married, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.
By 1930, Lizzie and sons were residing in Claxton, Evans County, Georgia. They were recorded there in the 1930 census as follows: Fred Boatright, head, rented home at $12 rental, age 36, married at 25, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, no occupation, veteran of World War; Ella, wife, housekeeper, age 36, married at age 25, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Marjorie, daughter, age 9, attended school, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Ruby, daughter, age 7, attended school, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Mack, son, age 6, attended school, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Jack, son, 3, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Mary, daughter, age 1 year and 1 month, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Mary, mother, age 76, widow, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; and, Dennis, brother, age 52, single, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.
Lizzie died 23 June 1932 in Claxton, Evans County.
