    • Alice Missouri RICH (Drucilla3, Reubin2, Daniel1), a daughter of Drucilla Boatright and Andrew Jackson Rich, was born on 17 October 1872 in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was named as a daughter, aged 8 years, in her parents' household in the 1880 Emanuel County census, and she was listed as a daughter in her mother's 1914 obituary. She also was named as a surviving sister in the obituaries of Easter Rich Truett, 1939, and Jerry J. Rich, 1931. In addition, she was named as a surviving aunt in the 1936 obituary of John Arthur Chance.

      She married George Francis Smith in Emanuel County, Georgia on 4 January 1888; they were married by M. B. Boatright, J.P. George was born on 17 June 1868 in Emanuel County, the son of Annie Elizabeth Mullins and White Roster Smith.

      In the 1900 Emanuel County census, the family was enumerated as follows: Geo. Smith, born June 1868, age 31, married 12 years, farmer; A. M., wife, born October 1872, age 27, mother of four children, three children living; C. E., son, born July 1890, age 9; Nora, daughter, born November 1893, age 6; and Rena B., daughter, born February 1900, age 3 months.

      By 1910, the Emanuel County census recorded the family as follows: George F. Smith, age 41, married 21 years, farmer; Alice, wife, age 37, mother of eight children of whom six were living; Clarence, son, age 19; Nora, daughter, age 16; Lula, daughter, age 7; Carrie L., daughter, age 5; Martha, daughter, age 1; and Mary, daughter, age 1.

      In the 1920 census, Alice was not present, but the family was recorded as follows: George Smith, age 52, married, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, no occupation, general farm; Johnnie, daughter, age 15, could read and write, attends school, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Martha, daughter, age 11, could read and write, attends school, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; and Mary, daughter, age 11, could read and write, attends school, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.

      The 1930 Emanuel County census recorded the family as follows: George F. Smith, head, owned home, $1000 value of home, lived on farm, age 61, age 19 at first marriage, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, farmer, general farm, working at time of census; Alice, wife, homemaker, age 58, age 15 at first marriage, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; and, Mary, daughter, age 21, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.

      They had eight children:

      George died on 29 July 1933 in Emanuel County and was buried at the Booth-Rhoden-Smith, also known as Liberty Grove, Cemetery near Modoc in Emanuel County.

      Alice was living on a farm outside of Swainsboro in 1940. The house, which she owned was valued at $700. The 1940 Emanuel County census recorded other details on the family as follows: Alice Smith, answered census questions, head, age 67, widow, completed five grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in the same house on 1 April 1935, unable to work, had no wages in 1939, had other sources of income in 1939; Mary Smith, daughter, age 31, single, completed nine grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in the same house on 1 April 1035, engaged in housework, had no source of income in 1939; and, George Craig, grandson, age 12, attended school, completed five grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia on 1 April 1935. [George Craig was the son of Carolyn Lee Smith and Raymond Derald Craig.] They lived next to Alice's daughter, Lula Rhoden, and family.

      Alice died on 13 October 1941 in Emanuel County and was buried near her husband.
