    • Mittie Missouri BOATRIGHT (John3, Reubin2, Daniel1), the fourth child of Nancy Deal and John Boatright, was born on 5 January 1886 in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was named as a daughter, Missouria, aged 10 years, in the 1900 Emanuel County census in her parents' household. She also was mentioned as a surviving sister in the obituaries of: Nancy America Boatright, 1939; Ruben Boatright, 1947; Will Boatright, 1950; Benjamin Boatright, 1951; and Kate Boatright Griffith, 1952.

      She married William Benjamin Hill, son of Lucinda Brown and Herschel Hill, on 8 October 1905 in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was born on 19 August 1878 in Emanuel County and had been married previously to Elizabeth Williamson.

      The family was recorded in the 1910 Emanuel County census as follows: Billie H. Hill, age 31, married twice, married four years, farmer, could read and write; Mittie M., wife, age 24, married once, mother of three children all of whom were living, could read and write; Ruby, daughter, age 3; Marvin E., son, age 2; John P., son, age 7 months; Ruth, daughter, age 10; and Willie L., son, age 7. The two children listed last, Ruth and Willie L., probably are William's by his first marriage.

      William registered for the World War I military draft on 12 September 1918 in Toombs County. His draft registration card included the following information: William Benjamine Hill; age 40; born 19 August 1878; natural born citizen; occupation: farming; employed by W. A. Dickerson, Lyons, Toombs County; nearest relative: Mittie M. Hill, Lyons; signed William Benjamin Hill; physical description: medium height, medium build, brown eyes, light hair.

      In the 1920 Toombs County census, the family was recorded as follows: William B. Hill, rent, age 41, married, could read and write, born in Georgia, farmer; Mittie, wife, age 34, could read and write, born in Georgia; Willie, daughter, age 17, could read and write, born in Georgia; Ruby, daughter, age 13, could read and write, born in Georgia; Marvin, son, age 11, could read and write, attended school, born in Georgia; John, son, age 9, attended school, born in Georgia; Berma, daughter, age 7, attended school, born in Georgia; Ben, son, age 5, born in Georgia; Joe, son, age 4 years and 2 months, born in Georgia; Foy, son, age 2 years and 8 months, born in Georgia; Troy, son, age 1 year and 1 month, born in Georgia.

      The family was recorded in the 1930 Toombs County census as follows: William B. Hill, son, age 21, single, completed seven grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Toombs County on 1 April 1935, was at work in public work the week of 24 March, N.Y.A. Public School, worked two weeks in March, government worker, worked 52 weeks in 1939, had no income in 1939; and, Claude Hill, son, age 14, attended school, completed eight grades of school, student, father born in Georgia, mother born in Georgia, spoke English in childhood home, did not have a Social Security number,

      Mittie was a member of Canoochee Baptist Church and was received "by experience" on 3 November 1912. She also was received on 4 September 1915 and then dismissed by letter on 4 May 1918. She became a member of Inman Creek Baptist Church in Lyons.

      William died on 10 February 1942 in Toombs County and was buried at Inman Creek Church Cemetery in Lyons.

      After William's death, probably between 1947 and 1950, Mittie married unidentified Meeker. He possibly preceded her in death, or they were divorced, as he was not named as a survivor in her obituary.

      Mittie died on 20 August 1956 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. She was buried beside William at Inman Creek Church Cemetery.
