    • Daisy HOOKS, a daughter of Eleona Abernathy and Jeremiah Hooks Jr., was born in Emanuel County, Georgia, on 23 May 1914. She was recorded as a daughter, age 5 years, in her parents? household in the 1920 Emanuel County census, and as age 11, in the 1930 Emanuel County census. She also was named as a surviving daughter in her father?s 1947 obituary and in her mother?s 1965 obituary. In addition, she was named as a surviving sister in Ethel Hooks Akridge?s 1976 obituary, in Lorene Hooks Dimmitt?s 1980 obituary, in Meldren Hooks? 1990 obituary, and in Carl Erie Hooks? 1993 obituary. She was a resident of Baconton, Georgia in 1947, 1965, 1976, 1980 and 1993.

      In 1938 Daisy was listed in the Lakeland, Polk County, Florida city directory as residing at 401 South Tennessee Street. She was a cashier for Gulf Life Insurance and it is probable that she met her future husband through her employment.

      She married Anthony Sesco in 1937 in Escambia County, Florida. He was born 13 June 1912 in Majestic, Pike County, Kentucky.

      They were living at 1007 Strong Street in Pensacola, Escambia County, at the time of the 1940 census. The house was rented for $22.50 a month. The census recorded the family as follows: Anthony Sesco, head, age 28, married, completed four years of high school, born in Kentucky, lived in Chipley, Florida on 1 April 1935, was working the week of 24 March, worked 48 hours the week of 24 March, district office manager, life insurance, paid wages, worked 52 weeks in 1939, paid wages of $1520 in 1939, had no other source of income; Daisy Sesco, answered census questions, wife, age 26, married, completed four years of high school, born in Georgia, lived in Pleasanton, Mitchell County, Georgia on 1 April 1935, engaged in housework; and, Jerry A. Sesco, son, age 8 months, born in Florida.

      They were listed in the 1940 and 1942 Pensacola, Florida city directories as residing at 1007 East Strong Street. Anthony was a district office manager for Gulf Life Insurance.

      They had three children:

      Anthony died 30 March 1986 in Baconton, Mitchell County, Georgia, and was buried in Mount Enon Cemetery in Baconton.

      Daisy died 18 March 1996 in Baconton, and was buried in Mount Enon Cemetery beside Anthony.
