    • Annie Mae FAIRCLOTH, a daughter of Mary Maggie Jones and Robert Lee Faircloth, was born on 12 June 1898 in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was named as a daughter, aged 1 year and 11 months, in her parents' household in the 1900 Emanuel County census, and as aged 11 years in the 1910 Emanuel County census. She also was named as a surviving daughter in her mother's 1940 obituary. In addition, she was named as a surviving sister in Lois Mytle Faircloth Carey's 1968 obituary. She was a resident of Metter, Candler County, Georgia at that time.

      She married Robert Kire McNeely in Emanuel County on 5 September 1915. He was born on 15 June 1892 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Georgia.

      They were recorded in the 1920 Emanuel County census as follows: Robert McNeeley, head, age 27, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Annie Mae, wife, age 21, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Emery, son, age 2-11/12?, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; and, Helen, daughter, age 1 year, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.

      Robert registered for the World War I draft in the 1208th GMD, Emanuel County on 5 June 1917. His draft registration card provided the following information: Robert Kare [sic] McNeely; age 24; post office address, Wadley, Georgia; natural born citizen; born in Louisville, Jefferson County, Georgia; occupation, farming, employed by J. C. Fulghum, 7 miles north of Blundale, Georgia; dependents, wife and one child; married; signed Robert Kire McNeely; physical description: medium height, dark brown eyes, dark hair, and no physical disabilities.

      By 1930 they had moved to Candler County where they were recorded in the Candler County census as follows: Robert K. McNeely, head, rented home, lived on a farm, age 37, age 23 when first married, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, farmer, general farm, self-employed, was working at time of census, was not a veteran; Annie M., wife, housekeeper, age 31, age 17 when first married, could read, and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Emory, son, age 13, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Helen, daughter, age 11, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Henry, son, age 9, attended school, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Hattie W., daughter, age 7, attended school, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Bonita, daughter, age 3 years and 5 months, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Edwin N., son, age 1 year and 0 months, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; and George, cousin, age 21, single, cannot read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.

      In 1940, they were living on a farm in a rented house, $4 monthly rental, outside of Metter, Candler County. The census of that year recorded the family as follows: Robert K. McNeely, answered the census questions, head, age 47, married, completed three grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935, was working the week of 24 March, worked 40 hours the week of 24 March, farmer, employer, worked 52 weeks in 1939, earned no wages in 1939, had other sources of income in 1939; Annie Rae McNeely, wife, age 40, married, completed nine grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935, was not employed, engaged in housework, worked 12 weeks in 1939, had no income in 1939; Henry McNeely, son, age 19, single, completed four grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935, was employed the week of 24 March, worked 40 hours the week of 24 March, laborer on a farm, unpaid family worker, worked 52 weeks in 1939, earned no wages in 1939, had no other source of income in 1939; Hattie Wade McNeely, daughter, age 17, single, completed seven grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935, was not employed, engaged in housework, worked 16 weeks in 1939, earned no wages in 1939, had no source of income in 1939; Benita McNeely, daughter, age 13, attended school, completed six grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935; Edwin McNeely, son, age 11, attended school, completed four grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935; and, Grady McNeely, son, age 9, attended school, completed three grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935.
