    • Lula Elizabeth GRIFFITH (Kate4, John3, Reubin2, Daniel1), a daughter of Kate Boatright and George Washington Griffith, was born on 8 May 1920 in Saluda County, South Carolina. She was named as a daughter, aged 9 years, in her parents' household in the 1930 Saluda County census. She also was named as a surviving daughter in her mother's 1952 obituary.

She married Andrew Fritz Shealy on 1 December 1940 at Saluda County, South Carolina. He was born on 12 November 1916 in Chapin, Lexington County, South Carolina, a son of Alice Frick and Andrew Milton Shealy.

Fritz was enlisted in the Army for service in World War II on 20 July 1942 at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. His enlistment papers provide the following information: Born, 1926; nativity state, South Carolina; residence, Philippine Islands; grade, Private; education, 4 years of high school; civil occupation, welder, spot or burner, acetylene; married; height, 67 inches; weight, 140 pounds. He served in the Army Air Corps.

After the war, Fritz was employed by SCE&G Company and worked at the McMeekin power plant at Lake Murray dam for 41 years before his retirement. They lived at Little Mountain, Newberry County, South Carolina. Because of his employment with SCE&G, Fritz was listed in the Columbia city directory. The directories for 1951, 1952, and 1954 contained the following listing: Andrew F. Shealy, serviceman for SC Electric & Gas, residence Little Mountain, SC.

      They had four children:

      i. Andrea Elizabeth SHEALY
      ii. Wendell Griffith SHEALY
      iii. Cheryl Jean SHEALY
      iv. Philip Wayne SHEALY

The family was mentioned frequently in the local columns of The Newberry (SC) Observer. Most often family members were noted in their visits with other family members and friends.

Elizabeth died on 9 July 1993 in Prosperity, Newberry County, and was buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Little Mountain, Newberry County, South Carolina

Fritz died on 6 July 1994, also in Prosperity, and was buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery beside Elizabeth.
