    Notes 
    • David L. BOATRIGHT, the eighth and youngest child of Demaris Rich and Reubin Boatright, was born on 29 October 1868 in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was included in his parents' household in the 1870 Emanuel County census as age 1, and in his mother's household in the 1880 Emanuel County census as age 12. He was named as a surviving brother in Charles Boatright's 1940 obituary.

      He was married first to Lillian Gizella Rogers, daughter of Mary J. and Ben F. Rogers, on 10 December 1893 in Emanuel County. They were married by J. F. Hale, MG. Lillian was born 14 March 1870 in Waynesboro, Burke County, Georgia.

      They had four children:

      i. Benjamin Floyd BOATRIGHT
      ii. Reuben Lloyd BOATRIGHT
      iii. James Rufus BOATRIGHT
      iv. Lillian Christine BOATRIGHT

      In the 1900 Emanuel County census, the family was enumerated as follows: David L. Boatwright, head, born October 1870, age 29, married 6 years; Lillian G., wife, born March 1870, age 29, mother of four children, 3 living; Floyd, son, born September 1894, age 5; Ruffus, son, born March 1894???, age 5; Lloyd, son, born March 1897, age 3; and Mary Frankling, mother-in-law, born May 1828, age 72, widow.

      In the 1910 Emanuel County census, the family included: David L. Boatright, age 40, married once, married 16 years, farmer, could read and write; Lillian G., wife, age 39, mother of four children of whom all were living, could read and write; Floyd, son, age 15, could read and write, attended school; Lloyd, son, age 15, could read and write, attended school; Rufus, son, age 13, could read and write, attended school; Christine, daughter, age 8, attended school.

      In the 1920 Candler County, Georgia census, the family was recorded as follows: D. L. Boatright, age 51, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, farmer, general farm; Lilian G., wife, age 49, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; B. F., son, age 25, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, farmer, general farm; Annie, daughter, age 20, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Lillian Edna, daughter, age 9 months, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; J. R., son, age 21, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, farmer, general farm; Christen, daughter, age 18, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.

      Lillian died on 7 March 1924 in Metter, Candler County, and was buried at Lake Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

      David married second Ola Spivey Coleman in Candler County on 28 October 1925. Ola was born on 4 June 1892 in Georgia.

      They were recorded in the 1930 Laurens County census as residing at 109 Gaines Street in Dublin. The census provided the following information: David L. Boatwright, head, rented home at $30 rental, age 61, married first at age 25, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, manager of a boarding house, self-employed, was working at time of the census, was not a veteran; Ola A., wife, housekeeper, age 37, married first at age 16, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; and, Sudie E., daughter, age 2 years and 5 months, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia. Ola's children by her previous marriage also are in the household; none of David's are.

      They had one daughter:

      i. Sudie Evelyn BOATRIGHT

      In 1940, they lived in a rented house. $12 monthly rental, in Dublin where they were recorded in the 1940 Laurens County census as follows: David L. Boatright, answered census questions, head, age 71, completed three grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in the same place on 1 April 1935, unable to work; Ola Boatright, wife, age 47, completed six grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in the same place on 1 April 1935, engaged in housework; Sudie Boatright, daughter, age 12, attended school, completed six grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in the same place on 1 April 1935; Therman Coleman, son-in-law, age 29, completed six grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in the same place on 1 April 1935, was at work the week of 24 March, worked 40 hours the week of 24 March, manager of creamery, wage earner, earned $1200 in wages in 1939, had no other income in 1939.

      David died on 14 November 1950 in Dublin and was buried at Lake Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Metter, Candler County.

      Ola died on 28 September 1973 in Baldwin County, Georgia and was buried in West View Cemetery in Milledgeville.
