    • John Grover JONES, a son of Drucilla Wallace and John L. Jones, was born on 1 September 1885 in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was named as a son, aged 14 years, in his parents? household in the 1900 Emanuel County census. He also was named as a surviving son in his mother?s 1942 obituary. In addition, he was named as a surviving brother in Hiram Walton Jones? 1952 obituary.

      He married Anna Belle Parrish on 1 September 1907 in Bulloch County, Georgia. Anna was born 25 January 1886.

      They were enumerated in the 1910 Emanuel County census as follows: John G. Jones, age 24, married once, married 3 years, farmer, could read and write; and Anna, wife, age 24, married once, mother of no children, could read and write; both born in Georgia, as were their parents. They were living next to John?s parents.

      John registered for the World War I draft in Candler County on 12 September 1918. His draft registration card contained the following information: John Grover Jones; home address: Metter, Candler County; age 32; born 18 September 1885; natural born citizen; occupation: clerk for Harold Melville; nearest relative: Anna B. Jones of Metter; signed J. G. Jones; physical description: tall, medium build, brown eyes, black hair, no physical disabilities.

      By 1920 the family had moved to Cowart Street in Metter, Candler County, where they were recorded in the census as follows: John Jones, age 34, born in Georgia, could read and write, salesman at general store; and Annabel, wife, age 35, could read and write, born in Georgia.
      They had one daughter:

      i. Ruby JONES, born 8 June 1908; died
      17 September 1908

      John died 17 February 1955 in Candler County and was buried at Lake Cemetery.

      Anna married second Ebb Lloyd Durden, who also was a descendant of Daniel Boatright.

      Anna died 23 October 1973 and was buried with John and their infant child.
