    • Benjamin Floyd BOATRIGHT (David L.3, Reubin2, Daniel1), a son of Lillian G. Rogers and David L. Boatright, was born on 19 September 1894 in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was named as a son, aged 5 years, in his parents' household in the 1900 Emanuel County census, and as aged 15 years in the 1910 census. He also was named as a surviving son in his father's 1950 obituary. He was a resident of Stillmore, Emanuel County, at that time.

      Benjamin registered for the World War I draft in the 1685th GMD, Candler County on 5 June 1917. His draft registration card provided the following information: Benjamin Floyd Boatwright; age 22; post office address: Metter, Candler County, Georgia; born 19 September 1894; natural born citizen; born in Swainsboro, Georgia; occupation: farming, employed by D. L. Boatwright in Metter; single; signed Benjmain F. Boatright; physical description: medium height, medium build, brown eyes, dark brown hair, not bald; no physical disabilities.

      He married Sarah Annie Daughtry about 1919. She was born in Georgia, possibly Emanuel County, on 2 April 1897, a daughter of Edna and Walter P. Daughtry.

      They were recorded in Floyd's parents? household in the 1920 Candler County census, as follows: D. L. Boatright, age 51; Lilian G., wife, age 49; B. F., son, age 25; Annie, daughter, age 20; Lillian Edna, daughter, age 9 months; J. R., son, age 21; Christen, daughter, age 18.

      The family was recorded in the 1930 Candler County census as follows: Benjamin F. Boatright, head, rented home, lived on a farm, age 35, age 23 when first married, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, farmer, general farm, self-employed, worked at time of census; Sarah A., wife, homemaker, age 33, age 20 when married first, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Lillian E., daughter, age 10, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; and, Walter D., son, age 5, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.

      Floyd and family lived in a rented house, $3 a month, on a farm in the Stillmore community when the 1940 Emanuel County census was taken. They were recorded in the census as follows: Floyde Boatright, answered census questions, head, age 45, married, completed eight grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935, was at work the week of 24 March, worked 50 hours the week of 24 March, farm laborer, worked on own account, worked 40 weeks in 1939, had income from sources other than wages in 1939; Annie Boatright, wife, age 43, married, completed ten grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935, engaged in housework, had no income in 1939; and, Walter Boatright, son, age 15, attended school, completed eight grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Candler County on 1 April 1935, student, had no income in 1939.

      They had two children:

      ii. Walter David BOATRIGHT

      Floyd died on 9 February 1959 in Emanuel County. He was buried in Lake Cemetery, Candler County.

      Annie died in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas, on 19 December 1987 and also was buried in Lake Church Cemetery.
