    • Henry Brinson BOATRIGHT (Stephen Thomas3, Reubin2, Daniel1), a son of Dora Logue and Stephen Thomas Boatright, was born on 28 February 1885 in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was named as a son, aged 15 years, in his parents' household in the 1900 Emanuel County census.

      He married first Effie Vereen in Jenkins County, Georgia, on 4 March 1906. They were enumerated in the 1910 Emanuel County census, as follows: Henry Boatright, age 24, married once, married 4 years, farmer, could read and write; Effie, wife, age 18, mother of one child, could read and write; and Harold H., son, age 16 months; all were born in Georgia, as were their parents.

      They had one son:

      i. Harold Hazel BOATRIGHT

      Whether Effie died or she and Henry were divorced is not yet determined. However, Henry married second Lizzie Mae Turner in Bulloch County, Georgia on 14 May 1916. She was born on 18 November 1888 in Lincoln County, Georgia, a daughter of Sophia Rebecca "Fronie" Thompson and John Elliot Turner.

      Henry registered for the World War I draft in Statesboro, Bulloch County, on 12 September 1918. His draft registration card provided the following information: Henry Brinson Boatright; post office address: Portal, Bulloch County, Georgia; age 33; born 28 February 1885; natural born citizen; occupation: railroad section foreman, Midland Railroad, Portal; nearest relative: Lizzie Boatright, Portal; signed Henry Brinson Boatright; physical description: medium height, stout build, blue eyes, red hair; no physical disabilities.

      In the 1920 Emanuel County census, the family was enumerated as follows: Henry B. Boatright, rented home, age 34, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia, farmer; Lizzy M., wife, age 30, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Harrel, son, age 11, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia; Bernice, daughter, age 3 years and 9 months, born in Georgia; and Ellouise, daughter, age 11 months, born in Georgia.

      The 1930 Emanuel County census recorded the family as follows: Henry Boatright, head, rented home, lived on a farm, age 45, age 24 when first married, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia, farmer, general farm, self-employed, was working at time of the census, was not a veteran; Lizzie M., wife, housekeeper, age 42, age 28 when first married, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Harold, son, age 21, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia, laborer, general farm, wage earner, was working at time of the census, was not a veteran; Bernice, daughter, age 12, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Elvira, daughter, age 11, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Juanita, daughter, age 9, attended school, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Clinton, son, age 8, attended school, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Jonas, son, age 7, attended school, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Stephen, son, age 6, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Jack, son, age 4 years and 2 months, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; and Sarah, daughter, age 1 year 11 months, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia.

      Henry died on 14 February 1935 in Garfield, Emanuel County, and was buried on 15 February 1935 in Hawhammock Church Cemetery, Emanuel County.

      After Henry's death, the family lived on a farm outside of Twin City. The house was rented at a monthly rental of $5. The 1940 Emanuel County census recorded them as follows: Lizzie Boatright, head, age 53, widow, completed five grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Emanuel County on 1 April 1935, was at work the week of 24 March, worked 40 hours the week of 24 March, housekeeper, private home, wage earner, worked 52 weeks in 1939, earned $60 in wages in 1939, had no other source of income in 1939; Juanita Boatright, answered census questions, age 19, completed five grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Emanuel County on 1 April 1935, seeking work the week of 24 March, new worker, had no source of income in 1939; Clinton Boatright, son, age 18, completed four grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Emanuel County on 1 April 1935, was at work the week of 24 March, worked 40 hours the week of 24 March, farm laborer, wage earner, worked 52 weeks in 1939, earned $180 in wages in 1939, had no other source of income in 1939; Johnnas Boatright, son, age 17, completed four grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Emanuel County on 1 April 1935, was seeking work the week of 24 March, worked 3 hours the week of 24 March, new worker, had no income in 1939; Stephen Boatright, son, age 15, attended school, completed four grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Emanuel County on 1 April 1935, student, had no income in 1939; Jack Boatright, son, age 14, attended school, completed four grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Emanuel County on 1 April 1935, student, had no income in 1939; Sarah Boatright, daughter, age 11, attended school, completed two grades of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Emanuel County on 1 April 1935; Eugene Boatright, son, age 7, attended school, completed one grade of school, born in Georgia, lived on a farm in rural Emanuel County on 1 April 1935; and, Carl Boatright, son,age 2, born in Georgia.
