    Notes
    • Britton Benjamin BOATRIGHT (Matthew Brinson3, Reubin2, Daniel1), a son of Mozelle McKenzie and Matthew Brinson Boatright, was born on 25 July 1885 in Emanuel County, Georgia. He was named as a son, aged 14 years, in his parents' household in the 1900 Laurens County census. He also was listed as a son in his father's 1943 obituary, and was named as a brother in Lucille Boatright Moore's 1939 obituary and memorial.

He married Maggie Lee Key on 25 December 1904 in Emanuel County. She was born in Emanuel County on 3 August 1887, a daughter of Georgia Ann Smith and William Carter Kea.

Britton was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church and his name appeared on the 1907 membership list. He served the church in various roles, including deacon and church clerk. However, his association was not always pleasant. A notation beside his name on the membership roll indicated that he was expelled on 24 February 1917 and again on 25 November on charges preferred against him for departure from faith. His relationship with the church apparently was mended at a later date. Maggie also was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church.

In the 1910 Emanuel County census, the family was enumerated as follows: Briton Boatright, age 25, married 5 years, farmer, could read and write; Maggie, wife, age 22, mother of two children, both living, could read and write; Eula G., daughter, age 2; and Matie, daughter, age 3 months.

In the 1920 census, she was in her parents' household, listed as Goy V. Lamb, a widow, with sons Garvis, age 7, Milfred, age 5, and Jerry, age 3. Goy's son Garvis married Britton's daughter Annie prior to the marriage of Britton and Goy.
