    • Frances Ella Boatright (Matthew Brinson3, Reubin2, Daniel1), the oldest child of Mozelle McKenzie and Matthew Brinson Boatright, was born on 31 August 1880 in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was named as a daughter, aged 20 years, in her parents' household in the 1900 Laurens County, Georgia census.

      She married John Virgil Brinson on 14 February 1903 in Tattnall County, Georgia. He was born on 3 May 1866 in Georgia, possibly in Burke County, a son of Susan and William Brinson.

      The family was recorded in the 1910 Emanuel County census as follows: Virse Brinson, age 44, married 7 years, laborer on farm, could read and write; Ella, wife, age 30, mother of five children all of whom were living, could read and write; Sudie, daughter, age 6; Ollie, daughter, age 5; Bessie, daughter, age 3; Frank, son, age 2; and Math, son, age 4 months; all were born in Georgia, as were their parents. They were living next to Ella?s parents.

      They were enumerated in the 1920 Emanuel County census as follows: J. V. Brinson, owned home, age 53, married, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia, farmer; Francis, wife, age 39, could read and write, born in Georgia, father and mother born in Georgia; Sudie, daughter, age 16, attends school, could read and write, born in Georgia; Ollie, daughter, age 14, attends school, could read and write, born in Georgia; Dessie, daughter, age 12, attends school, could read and write, born in Georgia; Frank, son, age 11, attends school, could read and write, born in Georgia; Math Jr., son, age 9, attends school, born in Georgia; Gladys, daughter, age 6, attends school, born in Georgia; and Clinton, son, age 11 months, born in Georgia.

      By 1930, John and Frances were residing on Main Street in Savannah, Chatham County. Although some of the children had left home, Sudie and her family were then living with the Brinsons. The census recorded the family as follows: John V. Brinson, head, rented home at rental of $15, age 65, married first at age 37, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, laborer at lumber mill, wage earner, was working at time of the census, was not a veteran; Frances E., wife, housekeeper, age 49, married first at age 23?, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Frank, son, age 22, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, lumber grader at lumber mill, wage earner, was working at time of the census, was not a veteran; Clanton, son, 11, attended school, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; James W. Roberts, son-in-law, age 28, married first at age 19, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, bookkeeper at lumber mill, wage earner, was working at time of the census, was not a veteran; Sudie M., daughter, age 25, married first at age 16, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; Mary E., granddaughter, age 7, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; and, Ethel, granddaughter, age 3 years and 6 months, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia.

      They had eight children:

      Ella was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church and was included on the 1907 membership roll as Ella Brinson. John and Ella were included on the October 1926 membership roll, as were some of their children.

      Frances Ella died on 13 September 1931 in Emanuel County and John Virgil died on 9 September 1932, also in Emanuel County. They are buried beside each other in Hawhammock Church Cemetery, Emanuel County.
