She was a resident of Rand, Kanawha County, West Virginia in 1952, of Orlando, Orange County, Florida in 1964 and 1970, but had moved to Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia by 1997.

She married Wallace Willis Cartee in Candler County on 18 November 1922. He was born on 29 January 1905 in what was to become Candler County, Georgia, a son of Mary Lee Lanier and Charlie Jackson Cartee.

      They had one son:

They moved to Orlando, Orange County, Florida where he was employed by the Borden Company. After his retirement, about 1973, the family returned to Candler County.

They were recorded in the 1945 Florida state census residing at 1519 S. The 1945 Orlando city directory also listed Wallace W. Cartee (Eva) as a driver for City Cab, 1519 S. Division Street. Hiram C. and his wife Gwendolyn were listed at the same address.

The 1946 listed the family, including Gwendolyn, at the same address but Hiram?s occupation was listed as the army.

By 1948, the Orlando directory listed Wallace as a construction worker for Dr Phillips Co. and the address was 1515 S. Division Street. Hiram was a driver for Home Ice and he and Gwendolyn still were living with his parents.

The 1949 and 1950 city directories listed Wallace as a salesman for Datsun Dairies and he and Eva had not moved. Hiram and Gwendolyn were not listed with them.

In 1951, the listing for Wallace remained unchanged but Eva was listed as a packer for Louis L. Jacob Inc. Hiram, once again, was listed in the army and he and Gwendolyn E. had moved in with Wallace and Eva again.
