      He married Cornelia Cochran about 1929, probably in Fulton County, Georgia. They were living with his sister Bessie and her husband Lloyd Stroud when the 1930 census was taken. They were recorded in Atlanta, Fulton County, as follows: L. S. Stroud, head, rented, $12 rental, does not live on a farm, age 32, married, married first at age 26, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, shipping clerk, meat packing company, wage earner, was not working at time of the census, was not a veteran; Bessie M., wife, housekeeper, age 27, married first at age 21, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; T. D. Stroud, father, age 73, widower, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia; C. R. Waters, brother-in-law, age 21, married, married first at age 20, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, dry cleaner, dry cleaning company, wage earner, was working at time of the census; Cornelia Waters, sister-in-law, age 18, married first at age 17, could read and write, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, saleslady, department store, wage earner, was working at time of the census.

      No children have been identified from his marriage to Cornelia. No further information on Cornelia.

      He married second Evelyn Georgia Harwell. She was born about 1912 in Georgia.

      Claude and Evelyn were listed in the 1932 through 1941 Atlanta city directories at various addresses: 1932, 1099 Woodland Avenue SE; 1935, 306 Atlanta Avenue SE; 1936, 525 Glenwood Avenue SE; 1937-1939, 13 Pryor SW 525 Glenwood Avenue SE; 1940-1941, 814 Capitol Avenue SE. He was employed in several dry cleaning establishments through those years.

      They rented a house at 814 Capital Avenue SE in Atlanta for $10 a month when the 1940 Fulton County census was taken. They were recorded as follows: Claude R. Waters, head, age 31, married, completed seven grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in the same place on 1 April 1935, was at work the week of 24 March, worked 60 hours the week of 24 March, proprietor of Pressing Club, worked on own account, worked 52 weeks in 1939, earned no wages in 1939, had other sources of income in 1939; and, Evelyn Waters, wife, age 28, married, completed eight grades of school, born in Georgia, lived in the same place on 1 April 1935, was at work the week of 24 March, worked 40 hours the week of 24 March, packer for wholesale coffee, wage earner, worked 52 weeks in 1939, earned $624 in wages in 1939, had no other source of income in 1939.

      Claude R. Waters was listed in the 1947, 1948, and 1951 Atlanta city directories without Evelyn. They probably had divorced by then. He was employed as a tailor for Wm. H. Bailey, his step-father, and resided with his mother and step-father at 315 SE Ormond Street.

      He married third Thelma Margarett McGuire.

      Claude died on 2 March 1979 in Fulton County.
